The Narrow Escape. (Chapter 18)

As Nurse Cindy Hunt wheeled Mac Davenport to the ICU room
where Mr. Williams was being held, she thought about Mr.
Williams when he began to talk a bit more normally than a heart
attack victim just in recovery would do.
She remembered him saying some kind of prayer to God.
She also noted that he appeared to be crying, though it seemed
to be in some kind of joy.
He then started saying these praises. The one thing she caught
was him saying in the end, "Thank you, Jesus."
She also happened to realize that the man in the wheelchair she
was pushing also believed in this Jesus and that the one chaplain
of the hospital clergy, Pastor Hal Shumway, was a minister of the
church Mac attended.
She wondered if Mr. Williams family believed likewise.
She noticed Mr. Williams wife and daughter both praying
together in the waiting area during patient quiet hour.
When midway to the ICU department Mac began to speak.
"I have to admit, Mrs. Hunt," Mac began to say, "that this
sounds like most unusual request."
Coming around the final corner to the ICU, Mrs. Hunt replied with,
"Please call me Cindy. And yes I told Mrs. Williams that myself and
I was amazed the doctor gave the go-ahead."
"I 'm not amazed, Cindy. Not if its what I believe it is."
"Are you saying that God somehow made this possible?"
"I am. If there is anyone who has more clout or pull than anyone
its the good Lord Himself."
"Oh," was all Cindy could say.
She then thought, I'm afraid he could be right.

After hearing that her father wanted to find a church, she immediately
responded with, "And there is this church Mom and I are both interested
in. The pastor of the Hospital clergy and the man that rescued you go there!"
Hearing that, Mr. Williams replied with, "Then that's the one we'll check out
first."
He then asked, "What's the name of this church?"
"It's called Newberry Community Church," Mrs. Williams replied eagerly.
"Excellent."
The three of them basked in the glory of Mr. Williams newfound faith when
there was a knock on the door and then in came Nurse Hunt with Mac
Davenport.

This concludes Chapter 18.
